Mother’s Day Video Series

During the week leading up to Mother’s Day, we ran a special series on the

Walk In Love Tanzania Facebook page honoring some of the mothers who participate in our Kisongo Center. With this, we also launched our new sponsorship program. I want to take a moment to tell you about the sponsorship program. In a nutshell, we are hoping to subsidize the cost of operations through child sponsorship. Our parents commit to paying a monthly fee of about fifty cents per day for daycare services. This is important, because there is dignity in providing for yourself and your children. There is dignity in knowing that you are taking care of what is yours. We could give the daycare service away for free, but this would be stripping the parents of their dignity. It would also devalue the daycare. People pay for what they value. If you are given something, you can take it or leave it, if you pay for something, you are deciding that it is worth your cost. All that to say, the parents pay every month for daycare, but this only covers half of our cost. Through the sponsorship program, we are hoping to raise that other half to subsidize what the parents are paying. We would love for you to check out the sponsorship page. We are asking $30 per month for each sponsorship, although you may certainly do more! To sponsor a child, just type their name into the text box at the top of the page and you will be redirected to that child’s specific PayPal page (thank you technology). If you have not been to our website lately, we have really updated the daycare pages. So please, go check it out!

Now, on to the Mother’s Day videos. I am not going to say too much about these, other than to tell you about an awesome coincidence we noticed when making the videos. In each one, we asked the mama to tell us about herself. When we planned it, we asked Glory to set up the interviews with women she knew would be excited to be a part of the project. After we finished, we realized that we had a second wife (Mama Omari), a single mom (Mama Harian), a widow (Mama Asiragi), a grandmother (Bibi Babyna) and a married woman (Mama Lugano). I thought that it was fantastic how God allowed this to fall into place. We really are helping so many different families! I hope you enjoy the videos. It was our first time to make videos and I want to say that Kelly Mollel is a rock star! She did all the translating and video editing. Matt and I are so honored to have her as my partner in this adventure. Here are the videos, I hope you enjoy meeting these moms!

Mama Harian

Mama Omari

Mama Asiragi

Bibi Baby Na

Mama Lugano (Glory)

All of these mothers are doing an amazing job providing for their families. I hope you have enjoyed meeting them. You will be hearing from more of our families in the coming weeks.

I want to leave you with a quick update on the Market Center. This week we have 16 kids! That is more than twice the number of kids since I wrote the last blog. Please keep praying for kids to come. Many people have stopped to ask questions and pick up applications, so we are hopeful that the word is beginning to spread.

16 precious children! That’s GREAT news! To sponsor a child, we should go to the Walk in Love website, right? I’ll try it. God bless you! Keep up the good work! We pray for you often!
